Journey Forward
Oct 27, 2024Think of life like a journey to and with God. You would not expect to reach your destination in one giant leap; instead, you take it one step at a time.
This approach reduces the risk of burnout and helps build sustainable habits that contribute to long-term success. It is the cumulative effect of these small steps, which leads to the significant progress of a closer relationship with God. Holy Spirit holds the map for our journey and will lead.
Every step forward, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction. By maintaining a steady pace and keeping your focus on the long term, you will find the Lord in increasing measure. This is not only achievable but also exciting and rewarding along the way.
Keep moving forward. Your consistent efforts today will pave the way for an ongoing growth of faith to faith as you go from glory to glory.
It is so important for us to overcome internal barriers that keep us from getting closer to Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.
Unforgiveness and taking on offenses is major. These sins are completely removed through heart-felt repentance. We all make mistakes and miss the mark, as do others. It is also vital to overcome the internal barriers of fear and self-doubt. There is nothing we cannot carry out when Father asks us to do something, and we are in unity with Jesus. Do not be trapped by the lies of Satan on any of the above.
We can renounce any fear or self doubt and proclaim we can do all things in Christ who strengthens us. Many believers fear the unknown. Abram left his comfortable surroundings and followed the words of the LORD. There was no cycle of inaction in Abram’s life. Mistakes, yes, but he continued to follow God’s lead.
Jesus said we were not to worry about the future. A friend of mine said she worked in practical peace and takes one step at a time. Let us not freeze or paralyzed by fear that keeps us stuck in a cycle. Fear is a spirit that does not come from God but is an effective tool in the hand of the enemy. Do not allow feelings to dominate your actions. Any step forward on your part kills fear and self-doubt. Perfection is never the goal.
Do you have self-talk like the “What if I fail?” Or “I need more information.” No, you do not. if God says to do something, do it! The alternative is to be stuck. Turn self-talk into God-talk. Be still in your chosen place to daily meet with Him. Tell Father and Jesus that you love them. Give God your adoration. Ask what He wants to say to you. Then listen and write it down.
When Holy Spirit reveals something in the Word, allow the Living Word to guide you. Take one manageable step at a time. Or be bold and confident, charge ahead. A journey is consistent moving ahead from that place of intimacy. Any setbacks are not failures but times of adjustments in the learning process. Focus on God, find good in everything, and enjoy the process and the bumps in the road.
Embrace a mindset of growth in your intimate relationship with God. Believe in a God who loves you behind measure. His extravagant love will protect you and help you walk in His Wisdom, which is the Mind of Christ. Focus on the wonderful process as a God-lover.
Believe in your ability to overcome challenges. God will never give you more than you can manage, and you never do anything alone. The Great I AM is joined with your spirit.
The journey to God’s heart may seem challenging, but the outcome is beyond what we can even think or imagine. Merely go with the heart of a small child who trusts their Heavenly Father. He has so much He wants to teach you. Learn from Him. Be like a large soft sponge and soak your innermost being.
We can begin each morning with an excited surrender to His plans for our day. At the end of the day, with a thankful trusting heart, we leave all ongoing challenges in His hands and thank Him for His love and sweet sleep.
