Imagination to Build God’s Kingdom on Earth
Dec 24, 2023I did not realize my brain enjoyed imagination. In school, I was not good at art, although I enjoyed classical music and played in an orchestra for a season. The school’s focus was on reading and writing. Math, I hated. I did not enjoy memorizing all the dates in history, either. Although I got high marks, I thought school was boring.
Reading, I loved it. With a library near our school, I would check out every book they would allow. This was the platform where I learned the most. I could travel the world and be in the land of mythology at the same time.
Later, I wondered why I was not interested in the analytical part of my brain. I was intelligent, but not interested.
My mother took me to church weekly and made sure I had a Bible. Although there was a lot I did not understand, I imagined as I read. Stories were great for that. I know we are naturally supernatural, and our imaginations are vital.
We live on this earth, but we are also our Heavenly Father’s children. We need our imaginations to grow in faith. If we stay rooted only in our natural mind, our spiritual senses cannot develop. They will seem foolish. The spiritual realm is to be our reality, grounded in the Truth of the Word.
Our connection to God allows us to spiritually hear and obey Him. Our five spiritual senses develop as we mature in our intimate relationship with God. Accepting Jesus, we are born again, and He seals us with His Spirit. Christ seats us in heavenly places while we are on earth. We live from the Kingdom of God to be united with Jesus here on earth. Having received Father’s Spirit through Jesus, heaven lives within believers. Thus, we see, hear, encounter, and experience the reality of God’s Kingdom in everyday life. We perceive in the spiritual and receive to exhibit in the natural.
The analytical mind and the spiritual mind clash. Satan wants to keep us in a reality of our natural five senses and thinking. Father wants us to function with our five spiritual senses while on earth, united with Jesus. Spontaneous thoughts drop into our minds from satan and from God. We choose which thoughts we accept.
2 Corinthians 10:5 is key to our staying united with Jesus. Look at verse 5.
“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled” (NKJV).
We are to cast down violently anything that is not in alignment with the knowledge of God.
- Thoughts
- Reasonings
- Imaginations
- Arguments
What is our reality? The Truth of God’s Word, or what we see and hear with our natural eyes and ears? Our Truth is in Christ. We must see past the natural realm like Abram in Genesis 13.14-16, Daniel in Chapters 7-9, and Habakkuk as He looked, watched, and then wrote what He saw and heard. Like them, in the vision center of our minds, we see, perceive, and receive. We then partner with God to bring His plans to reality on earth.
We are to do everything Jesus showed us on earth and more (John 14:12-14). Wow!
“Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will also do; and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father.
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (NKJV).
This is Truth. What did Jesus show us? Make your list and stand on the Truth, believing. If you have a Bible, blow off the dust and expect Holy Spirit to talk to you daily. He will be your teacher.
Father’s clarion call is to ALL believers. God-lovers, position yourselves and step forward. Tell Him you are willing to be willing.
Often, believers do not consider the Blood of Jesus that paid for our redemption price. His resurrection sealed it. One property of the Blood is cleansing. We can go to the Throne of Grace in Heaven and ask forgiveness from the heart, intending to change our life habits that do not line up with the Truth of God. Instant healing is ours anytime, anyplace. This is the beauty of repentance. Only Jesus was sinless. We all make mistakes. Repentance sets things right and makes us holy, set apart for Him to use.
Imagine yourself in the courts of heaven. Thank Him for your imagination that allows you to repent and allow cleansing of your vain imaginations.
“Father, thank You for the privilege of coming before you. I repent for ___________ and having filled the imagination of my mind with things displeasing to You (anger, gossip, lust, judgment …). These are not of you. I renounce them, in the name of Jesus. Forgive me for receiving unrighteous and impure thoughts and attitudes. Please forgive me.”
“I receive Your Blood, Jesus, and believe it is washing my fleshly imaginations. I declare my imagination cleansed by Your Blood.”
“Holy Spirit, I ask you to help me steward my imaginations so that they bring glory to Father. Provide me with Your enabling grace, Jesus, to cast down every vain imagination in my mind, incorrect understanding, and everything that exalts itself above You, Jesus.”
“I purpose not to yield my mind to the thoughts of the enemy of my soul. I choose to be holy, set apart for the Father’s glory to live and work united with Jesus. May my imagination perceive and receive everything You have for me. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.”
