God's light in the sky from heaven

“Draw near”

You are never an orphan. You are a child of the Most High God (1 John 3.1). Like a multi-faceted diamond, enjoy the beauty and comfort of God’s love. Although Father’s love is beyond our human understanding, it is real.

You have a Father in Heaven you can call “Abba” (Papa, Dad, or another endearing name). He loves you with an everlasting love. Our Heavenly Papa wants you to draw close and get to know Him better. He talks about Himself throughout the Bible. He desires that we hear His voice and feel the comfort of His presence, even in times of turmoil and battle. Allow Papa’s love to embrace you, His special child.

Fully committed and submitted, our hearts will beat with His. Our Father’s everlasting lovingkindness, faithfulness, and mercy will draw us in and excite us to learn more from Him. He is all we need when we need it.

Surrendered to His love, our God becomes the center of our focus throughout our day. We walk and talk with Him. He is worthy of all our praise. We trust Him and united, live from a place of rest (Deuteronomy 6.4-6; Matthew 22.37-38). Having learned to trust our Heavenly Papa and Jesus, our identity is in our God.

In Exodus 3.14, YHWH (Yahweh) declares Himself as I AM WHO I AM. We can embrace who He declares Himself “to be.” Years ago, I spent months studying the names and character of our Heavenly Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit in the Old Testament and New Testament. Finishing my study on the names and character of God, I began to take phrases from the Bible and include them in my worship time.

The “I AM” list below is only a fraction of what we find as we read the Living Word with Holy Spirit. Our Father loves our worship, and our trust increases as we saturate our lives with the Truth of Who He is.

In your worship time and throughout your day, practice changing I AM to “You are ….”
