God Is Always Speaking
Feb 24, 2024Awaking with a song in my heart, during my early morning prayer time, a song of exaltation rose within me. One song followed another, some in the natural and others in tongues. I was probably joining the angels, or they were joining me. I have heard angels singing. The sound is beyond our concept of beautiful. I have asked Holy Spirit to open my spiritual ears more to hear the sounds of Heaven.
Someone who visited the field in Israel where the angels sang and the angel announced the birth of Christ to the shepherds said there is a residual there. Numerous believers have recorded singing in their congregations or groups and replayed them to hear an angelic host singing.
Father and Jesus are always speaking to us by their Spirit. Each way is vital.
Jesus bridged Heaven and earth at His birth. People can communicate with a Living God. Father and Jesus are always speaking to us. Each way is just as important. I have listed five ways:
- An audible voice that everyone can hear
The heavens opened when Jesus was baptized. Father introduced Jesus as His Son.
Angels sang when Jesus was born and an angel pronounced to the shepherds the birth and where to find Him.
An audible voice is dramatic and noticeable to groups and individuals.
2. An inner audible voice just for you.
I was falling asleep while driving my car and heard a distinct voice that shook me out of a sleep stupor. I avoided having an accident.
This voice is loud and dramatic.
3. Dreams and visions
There are many examples in the Bible.
4. A still, small voice or an impression
Elijah was desperate to connect with God (1 Kings 19).
This is the best way I have found to develop intimacy.
We receive guidance for breakthroughs, comfort, counsel, peace, prayer strategies, wisdom, and more.
Cherish the still small voice or inner impressions as they lead to intimacy with Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.
Impressions draw us closer and closer to God.
5. The Word of God
The easiest way to begin hearing God.
Our love-letter from God that can become very personal.
It builds us, comforts us, edifies, encourages us, lifts us to higher places.
The written word is revealed as “logos,” the word of truth.
God-breathed as “rhema” as a personal, prophetic, living word just for you.
The Living Word answers questions, strategies for victory, warfare, prayer, wisdom, understanding, and more.
Revelation comes in dreams and visions, sometimes an impression or even an inner audible voice. Reading our Bible and asking Holy Spirit to be our teacher, the revelation of profound concepts in Scriptures will open to us more and more. Spending time in His presence opens our spiritual senses to hear Him speak.
Anyone reading their Bible and seeking Him will find Him. They will begin to spiritually “see” and its revelation shows the Living Word, rather than merely words on a page.
I call my Bible, Papa’s Treasure box and Abba’s Toolbox, because it shows what Heaven has given us as His children and then equips us to use what is inside.
Spending time with our Father, He reveals many mysteries. God is no respecter of persons. Anyone reading their Bible and seeking Him will find Him. They will begin to spiritually “see” and its revelation shows the Living Word, rather than merely words on a page. As hidden things are revealed, the desire for more grows and more is seen.
In the natural, if you purchase a car of a certain make and color you suddenly notice more of the same on the road. Or a woman becomes pregnant and soon notices other pregnant women. The same is true with reading your Bible. When you receive one nugget, soon scriptures of similar concepts seem to jump off the page.
Good friends spend time together and stay connected.
If God-lovers desire an intimate friendship with their Living God, setting time to be together is vital. Friends spend time together. Make a plan, and then stick to it as much as possible. A short time is better than no time. God was waiting for Moses in the tent of meeting when he and Joshua went daily (Exodus 33.7). With Holy Spirit one with our spirit, we have become a tabernacle of meeting with God (1 Corinthians 3.16). When we decide to meet with Him, He is expectantly waiting.
People ask me what I personally do. Following time in worship and prayer, I usually read my Bible consecutively in different areas using various translations. That is what works for me. It may be different for you. As often as possible, I read in the Old Testament, New Testament and Psalms. Whatever I read everything seems to tie together. This morning, I got so caught up in Holy Spirit’s presence that breakfast was late.
Because God is always speaking, how does He speak to you? Treasure each way as His expressed love for you. No way of hearing is more important than another. They are all precious experiences.
